The Gainesville Sports Commission (GSC) hosts or helps to host nearly 40 events every year. These events would not be successful without the help of our volunteers. Volunteering with the GSC is a great opportunity for individuals to gain valuable field experience or to get involved with the Gainesville and Alachua County community. Volunteer duties differ from event to event and may range from ticket taking to moving sports equipment to timing and scoring. If you are interested in becoming a GSC volunteer, please fill out an application and submit it by e-mail to Alex Alston. Please note that the needed number of volunteers varies from event to event and that you may not be notified to volunteer at every scheduled GSC event.

The Gainesville Sports Commission (GSC) offers a unique internship experience. Those individuals selected each semester join a long line of interns who began their careers in sport management with the GSC. Interns are selected each semester, including the summer academic terms. These internship positions are unpaid and can be full or part-time based upon an individual's needs and availability. The GSC selects students seeking credit in the following areas: internship, practicum and field experience.
