Gainesville Indoor Pickleball Showcase
The Gainesville Sports Commission in association with the City of Alachua and the Legacy Multipurpose Center will be hosting the 2nd Annual Gainesville Indoor Pickleball Showcase from Saturday, August 4th - Sunday, August 5th, 2018. This will be a fantastic opportunity for all ages and skill levels to help continue to grow the sport of pickleball here in Alachua County.
Saturday, August 4th
Men’s Doubles Age Groups: Open Division (Most Competitive), 40 & Under, 41-50, 51-60, 61-70, 71-80, 81+
Women’s Doubles Age Groups: Open Division (Most Competitive), 40 & Under, 41-50, 51-60, 61-70, 71-80, 81+
Sunday, August 5th
Mixed Doubles Age Groups: Open Division (Most Competitive), 40 & Under, 41-50, 51-60, 61-70, 71-80, 81+

The tournament fee will be $20.00 for the first event and $5.00 for your second event. Each registered athlete will be receiving a player gift. All event fees are refundable up until the registration deadline of Thursday, July 26th at 8:00AM.

PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU DOUBLE CHECK THE EVENTS YOU ENTER. You do not need to have a partner prior to signing up for your designated event. If you need a partner please note so on your registration form and someone from the Gainesville Sports Commission will reach out to you accordingly to help arrange a partner for you.
The registration deadline will be Thursday, July 26th at 8:00AM.
This event will be based on age groups only. We will divide each age group event into the following divisions (40 & Under, 41-50, 51-60, 61-70, 71-80, 81-90, 90+) and are subject to change depending on entries. The “Open Division” is reserved for advanced players of any age. Age Divisions with three or fewer teams will be combined. Signing up early is advisable. Preference for placement (if combined) will be given to teams who enter earliest.
The first team reaching 15 points will determine the winner for the seeding matches. The Single Elimination Championship Bracket: Matches will be played to 15 points, but must continue until a team achieves a 2-point margin. Teams will change sides of the court when the first team reaches 8-points.
Tie breakers for seeding:
All doubles & mixed-doubles team’s placements will be determined by the youngest players age. Each age group will have a mix of skill levels to provide all players a great opportunity to grow upon their personal skills. All beginners will be placed as close to their age group as possible. The tournament director has the final authority to determine the event in which teams must play.
