2020 Gainesville Senior Games Canceled Due to COVID-19
Gainesville, FL – The Gainesville Sports Commission (GSC) has announced, the Gainesville Senior Games, which were scheduled to celebrate their 20th year in Alachua County in September, has been canceled due to the COVID-19.
“The GSC is disappointed to have to cancel this year’s Gainesville Senior Games, but our top priority is the health and safety of our participants,” said GSC Executive Director Joleen Cacciatore Miller. “We look forward to celebrating our 20th hosted year of the Senior Games in 2021 and welcoming our athletes back into the community safety.”

About the Gainesville Senior Games
The Gainesville Senior Games is one of 14 local qualifiers throughout the state for the Florida Senior Games State Championship, held each year in December. For the past 19 years, Gainesville has welcomed over 350+ athletes ages 50 and over from Alachua County and all around the state to our community; providing competition and camaraderie and promoting a healthy, active lifestyle for adults celebrating their golden age. The Gainesville Senior Games offers 10 sports: archery, basketball shooting, basketball 3 on 3, bowling, cycling, golf, pickleball, swimming, table tennis, and track & field, held at various sites throughout Alachua County.
