The Five Points of Life Marathon is on Sunday, February 15! Volunteers are needed as course monitors to help keep the runners safe. Over 100 volunteers are needed for this event to cover the various shifts: 6:45am, 7:00am, 7:30am, 8:00am, and 8:30am (You may be asked to stay anywhere from 1 hour to 5 hours depending on which shift you choose). Volunteers are encouraged to bring chairs, snacks, music, signs of encouragement, etc.
The Five Points of Life Marathon was started by Life South Community Donation Centers to raise awareness about the Five Points of Life, which are all life saving donations (blood, apheresis, organ/tissue, cord blood and marrow). Five Points of Life works with blood centers, organ procurement organizations, marrow registries and community organizations to educate citizens about donation of life-giving blood and blood products.
If you are in need of service hours or would be interested in helping out for this great cause, please email email@example.com or call 352-338-9300.
